Our Story

What is Glow Bears by Happy Glow?

Founded by a mom, Glow Bears are personalized comfort companions designed to support emotional security, early learning, and bedtime independence through familiar voice connection and consistent routine-based reassurance. Designed to support children from birth onward, Glow Bears integrate emotional reassurance with early learning through personalized voice recordings in your native language. At night, they support comforting sleep routines, and during the day, they encourage imagination, language exposure, and early literacy through interactive engagement.

The Why

Happy Glow began with a simple parenting challenge: how to provide comfort and connection when a parent can’t always be there. Many families face concerns around speech development, sleep independence, and ensuring children are exposed to their heritage language. There was a need for something that could comfort children at night while also supporting learning during the day — but nothing truly did both. Glow Bears was created to bridge that gap.

The Real Problem

Many families face the same challenges:

  • Bedtime separation anxiety
  • Inconsistent routines during travel or busy schedules
  • Language exposure gaps in bilingual homes
  • Difficulty supporting emotional regulation in early childhood

Glow Bears was designed as a simple, consistent support system for these everyday moments.

Grounded in Child Development Research

Research shows that comfort objects support emotional regulation and sleep transitions by providing continuity with caregivers (Winnicott, 1953). These objects provide a sense of psychological continuity with caregivers, functioning as external sources of reassurance when a parent is not physically present. Attachment research further demonstrates that familiar sensory cues — such as a caregiver’s voice, scent, or a consistent object — help regulate distress and promote feelings of security at night (Bowlby & Ainsworth). Together, these mechanisms are associated with improved emotional regulation, reduced nighttime waking, and greater ability for children to fall asleep independently.

Randomized controlled trials conducted at Stanford University School of Medicine found that preterm infants exposed to recordings of their mother’s voice developed more mature neural connectivity, particularly in regions linked to language and emotional regulation (Frontiers in Human Neuroscience, 2025). Additional NICU-based clinical trials have similarly shown that maternal voice exposure is associated with improved language outcomes and developmental stability. Together, this research suggests that a familiar recorded caregiver voice can serve as a biologically meaningful source of reassurance, supporting both emotional regulation and early brain development.

 Safety First

Beyond standard testing, Glow Bears have also been evaluated in real home environments to ensure they function safely and effectively in everyday use. Our comprehensive testing process is conducted by an independent, expert laboratory, ensuring ongoing adherence to U.S. regulations and providing peace of mind as your child explores, plays, and grows.

 Our Goal is Simple

To help children feel secure, supported, and connected — whether a parent is in the next room or across the world. Through comfort, consistency, and familiar voice connection, Glow Bears are designed to support both emotional well-being and early development — day and night.

At Happy Glow our mission is to ignite a spark in young minds through reassurance and playful learning.
